5.11 Day 2009

5/7/09  Brainstorm!  I had a great 5.11 Day idea.  What do cops like to do?  Shoot.  So we are going to have shooting contest.  Hit the target to win prizes.  The big prize will be a 5.11 Field Ops Watch, value $240, with a ballistics calculator and compass and other cool stuff built in.  BUT....  you have to do it with our son's 8 year old, Daisy Red Rider BB gun that has an accuracy of +- 4', HA! And, there might be a few other "obstacles".  Good Luck!

5/17/09

What a blast.  We ended up having two 5.11 Days and we had a great time on both days!  Thanks to everyone that showed up.  We hope you had a good time as well.  Congratulations to all the Prize Winners.  We gave away a lot of stuff!  But the Shooting Contest was a hit!!!  I knew it would be.  Out of all of the Professional Marksmen that tried their hand at it, David Heffernan was the only one to win something other than a hat.  And that's shooting from only 25 feet away!  We will probably leave it set up if you want to try your hand at it and you can come see how everyone else did.  It was fun to watch everyone try to sight in a Daisy Red Rider BB gun.  Just when they thought they had it figured out, their next shot would be even worse.  Some complained about the accuracy, but we had someone put 3 BB's through the same hole (of course the hole was almost 3" high and right of the bullseye).  There was definitely some competition within department as well.  Thank you also to Ben Hartner and the Seminole County Sheriff's Office for sending out their 1962 Chevy Cruiser.  It would be fun to have that permantly parked at the store.

Dr.Jeff Goltz, CJI, tries to win the 5.11 Field Ops watch in the shooting contest, but had to resort to winning it in the random drawing instead.

David Heffernan, CJI, takes the "Best Shot" award to win a $10 CFT Gift Certificate.  Out of all the shooters, he was the only one to win more than a hat
